Sophie's New Toy

Sophie is very against putting weight on her legs. She is also anti-tummy-time, anti-sitting-up-in-her-Bumbo, and lately, anti-being-left-alone. Basically, she likes to lay down on her back and kick with someone right there next to her or be carried around. We decided to try and get her a jumping/gym toy to work on some of the skills that she is lacking-and she loves it!
.

(Yes, she is wearing cow pjs with puffy sleeves)

I was reading in Lili's baby book and at this same age she was sitting up with some help, eating cereal, fruits, and veggies, jumping in her Johnny Jumper (or Lili Leaper as we liked to call it), rolling over from both sides, and inching along the floor. Sigh...I hate to compare them but Sophie is not even close to doing any of these things. Sophie is just a more laid back baby. That's my excuse anyway. It's funny how different they are. Crazy.

But she is such a beautiful baby! She will catch up quick when she figures out that moving around is better than laying down and kicking.

Yes, they are so different, but they are both so cute...

How cute!!! I wanted to get Carter one of those but never did :)
Don't worry about Sophie doing things later than Lili - I've heard that it's normal for the oldest to do things quicker. For instance - Bailee crawled at 7 1/2 months and Carter crawled at 10 1/2 months. Bailee could say quite a few words at 11 months - Carter can only say Mama and Dada :)

Veronica - that describes Maren to a tee. She sat very early, but she is later at almost everything else. She hated tummy time and now that she can get up off her tummy, she is very content to sit and scoot. It's only been in the last month that she even has attempted movement. Now she is partially army crawling, partially scooting. It is not very efficient, but it works.
