Do you know that feeling when you look forward to something for soooo long, and then it comes, it's every bit as wonderful as you had hoped for, and then it is over.
Do you remember how it feels "the day after"? The day when you realize that it's over. Sad.
That's how we've been feeling around the Reeve house the last two days. It's as if our whole summer had been squished into 3 weeks of fun...and now it's over and summer is coming to an end....and all we have left is, well, nothing.
Let me explain...
Meet my cousin Gaelle. She's from France and out of the goodness of her heart, she came to visit us here in good 'ol Ogden, Utah. Don't get me wrong, Ogden is the coolest! But when you come from southern France, and you've been here already twice before (albeit 14 years ago), you have to wonder if there is anything here worth seeing a third time around.
But she came...and we loved every minute of having her here.
Here is a bit of what we did:

Yes, we took one of those old fashioned picture. All the ladies. Priceless.
Camping with Rich's family:
Gaelle got to experience Costco sized hot dogs over the fire and s'mores with marshmallows the size of softballs. America - the land of jumbo sized everything.
We also spent some time in St. George shopping, eating, and seeing "Cats" at the Tuachan Theater. It was our first time there, and we LOVED it! Red rocks and starry skies were a great backdrop for the show.
What's more American than baseball? How about baseball with all you can eat hotdogs, hamburgers, and popcorn? Huge brownies for desert? Yes, please! Gaelle learned the game of baseball from VanCott's box. Not a bad way to enjoy the game (especially when it's raining on every body else!)
Cooking! We cooked and cooked! Gaelle taught me some wonderful French recipes. So healthy, fresh, and flavorful! She even made/froze meals for us to eat when she was gone. Seriously? Could I have asked for a better house guest?!
Not only did she cook, but she helped so much with the girls, cleaned, assisted me with photographing a wedding, and was a wonderful shopping buddy.
Gaelle turned 30 while she was here, we tried to make the big day special for her....throwing a real American birthday party with party hats and a large chocolate cake.
Gaelle was probably overwhelmed with all the kids (although she wouldn't admit it). This was the first time we've all been together in such a long time!!! Even with two nephews and a niece missing from this picture this is a definite change from her two nephews and one niece back home.
We went to two concerts, "Jon Schmidt" and cousin "Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband". Both outdoor concerts, and both a lot of fun. Awww, summer.
Gaelle's first Drive In Movie! We saw Despicable Me, ate Oreo cookies, and sat on blankets in the back of the pick up...the true American experience. She said she had never been so comfortable watching a movie. Ogden shirt? Yes, it is...thanks Linds!
Other activities she/we did: Hogle Zoo, Park City, a lot of shopping, photo shoot, I-Fly (indoor sky diving), some national parks, and Las Vegas.
So much fun, in such a short amount of time. We miss her a lot and hopefully we'll see each other very soon!!!
