So after living forever with a large dance/run around crazy/wrestling mat/scatter toys/trampoline front room we FINALLY got some furniture. It wasn't planned, but when we saw this stuff (and the clearance price) we were SOLD!! We needed color so badly in our "vanilla" home, and we really wanted something unique, so here it is. It screams "Rich and Veronica" doesn't it? We still need a lot to fill up this space (side tables, coffee table, lamps) but we're feeling like this is a good fit. Yeah!!

Also in an effort to de-vanilla our home we decided to paint our bedroom this lovely tranquil blue color. We also added some wainscoting to freshen and brighten. It's our little retreat and we are happy with how it turned out. It's pretty neutral right now and still in need of some decorating...all in good time.

Also beefed up our baseboard in the dining room and added some wainscoting to the front entry.

The mudroom, one of my favorite rooms in the house. The cement floor is super durable and easy to clean. The lockers house gloves and hats in the winter, beach towels and sunblock in the summer, and currently, shin guards and soccer socks.
We have our calendar, mail slots, and chore charts all within easy access, and now (thanks to Rich's handiness) we have added a chalkboard/magnet board by the drinking fountain to write our seasonal to do list on, hang art projects, and write notes to each other.
Another Rich/Veronica project has been collecting and framing the old family photos above the lockers. It's a mix of both sides of our family, and makes me feel happy every time I look at it. I like to think of it as a "remember who you are and what you stand for" type reminder when I'm exiting the house for the day. We are planning to fill the whole wall with black and white photos and some historical newspaper clippings that Rich's grandma collected over the years (i.e. landing on the moon and JFK's assassination). Finally, the double sided clock is perfect for knowing if we are getting out the door to school on time.
