St. Jorge 2012

Nothing quite compares to our annual spring time trip to St. George for the BAR convention.  It's a little escape from the blah winter up north and a sneak peek into the wonderful world of spring.  Blossoming trees, warm temperatures, lots of physical activity, and lounging by the pool.  It should be required that everyone goes down to St. George in the spring (well, sometimes it feels like everyone IS required to be down there when we have to fight the weekend traffic).  Family, friends, good eats, and bucket loads of sunshine...we got it all.

We cruised down there on Sunday and met up with Rich's brother Nate and his family.  On Monday we went hiking at Dixie Rock, to the sand dunes/hiking in Snow Canyon and finished the night with the Pasta Factory and swimming.  All the kids were champion hikers and had so much fun being with their cousins.

Tuesday we went shopping at the outlet malls, hung out at the pool and went out to dinner with some friends that Rich works with.

Wednesday we went to Zion's and took the girls hiking.  They were incredible little hikers and made it a lot further than we thought we'd make it.  Lilia and I had fun talking in French to try to make people think we were foreigners.  She's learned so much in her french school this year and is really getting comfortable with the language.

Thursday was spent swimming, playing, and going out for ice cream.

Friday Rich had to go to his BAR classes.  We were stranded all morning so we painted the girls toe nails in preparation for St. Patty's Day.  After Rich's classes we went to lunch with our friends and then celebrated Jen's birthday by going to get pedicures while the husbands watched the kiddos at the downtown splash park.  That night we were treated to a delicious bbq dinner at the Stagg's place to celebrate Jen and Rich's birthdays.  We can't stop talking about the grilled artichokes with Jen's amazing dipping sauce creation.  Ooooh yum!

Saturday morning (Rich's Birthday!!) we awoke to some leprechaun mischief and some surprises.  We proudly wore green and spent the day preparing for our trek home while Rich went to his classes.  The girls were anxious to swim one last time, but we spent our time in the bubbly hot tub (literally, someone must have dumped bubble bath in the hot tub) because the weather had turned quite cool and the pool didn't feel so warm anymore.  After that we packed up shop and headed north.  Hazel screamed from Nephi to our home with only a 20 minute break.  Needless to say, we were all very excited to get out of the car.  And now we are home!  Getting back into the routine, washing mountain piles of laundry and trying to get back to reality.  I have a feeling we won't see blossoming trees for a while longer, but at least we've had some relief to help get us through the rest of winter!
